Social-Heather Buerkle
I have lived in 8 different states ranging from New York to Connecticut to Texas to California. My Dad worked for IBM, which also means - "I've been moved" - that landed me at 3 different high schools and two different colleges. After graduating from the University of Connecticut, I moved to Atlanta. I spent a short stint in NYC, but knew I would settle down here.
My first job out of college was at TBS Superstation. I was fortunate enough to survive multiple mergers and acquisitions and recently left WarnerMedia at the end of 2020 as a Senior Director of Brand Marketing (for tbs, TNT, TruTV and HBO Max) after 26 years spent working in various strategy, brand marketing and consumer marketing roles. I am starting a new job in several weeks at Millenia 3 as the Vice President of Operations.
My husband, Chris Buerkle and I moved to the Riverside neighborhood 10 years ago and we have one son, Bennett, who is a rising 8th grader at Ridgeview Middle School.
An ideal day for me in Atlanta would be a cardio tennis class at the Riverside Club in the morning, followed by lunch at Breadwinner and an afternoon shopping at Perimeter Mall or the shops in Vinings.
My husband grew up in East Cobb and he had fond memories of time spent with close friends who lived off of Weatherly Drive. When we broke down and decided to move OTP, the Riverside neighborhood was a top choice because of the people, the great homes and the fun pool and tennis club. We wanted a home in a neighborhood where our son could ride his bike and run up to play at a friend's house and also had great public schools.
It made sense for us to join the HOA to be more aware of what is happening in our neighborhood and contribute where we can.
